Everything is better when you make it yourself, right? You know what I am taking about. That little boost of accomplishment after perfecting every step of the recipe. Then, finally sitting down and tasting your delicious meal.
Well I have a little something to help you continue creating delicious food and boosting your confidence at the same time: Easy Homemade Greek Seasoning.
Properly seasoned food is essential. Without it, food is boring and tasteless. On the other hand, overly seasoned food is just as bad, if not worse. So take the guess work out of the seasoning equation and use this blend to create delicious meals you and your family will love!
This Easy Homemade Greek Seasoning is one the highlights of my recipe arsenal thus far. It is a tried and true combination of several different spices and herbs that can be used on ANYTHING you want to taste like it came from the Mediterranean.

Herbs are what the Mediterranean region of the world is known for. Think back to any meal you have had a Greek restaurant: lots of acidity and lots of fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, oregano, etc). This blend is packed full of them, just in their dried form!
However, one ingredient on the list that you might not be so familiar with is the Herb-Ox Vegetable Bouillon. Normally used to make vegetable broth, I added this is specifically to boost the flavors when it hits your palate.
Ideally, you have a mortar and pestle to crush the bouillon cube, but if you don’t, simply use the back of a spoon, or another heavy utensil to crush it. Make sure to crush it into a fine powder so it blends evenly with the rest of the herbs and spices. Remember to only use half of the ground powder in the recipe!

Once combined, you will have enough to fill a standard size spice bottle. This should yield approximately 16 tablespoons. Use this seasoning to add flavor to cooked grains or beans. This would also taste great added to sautéed tofu or tempeh.

1/2 cube Herb-Ox Vegetable Bouillon, crushed into powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp basil, dried
1 tsp oregano, dried
1 tsp parsley, dried
1/2 tsp thyme, dried
1/2 tsp rosemary, dried
1/2 tsp majoram
1/2 tsp lemon pepper
1/2 tsp cinammon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
directions :
- Combine all ingredients into a small bowl and mix
- Store in your spice rack or cabinet for up to one year!
